Fear Factor Fundraiser Challenge Raises £3,960 for Charity
Today (13th October 2016) five of Helistrat’s Directors took part in a ‘Face your Fears’ style challenge. One team who were petrified of snakes and spiders were faced with their nemesis at our Head Office in Portsmouth. The second team who had a fear of heights scaled the O2 arena. Prior to the challenge each Director was tasked to raise as much money as possible, with them being given the incentive of whoever raises the most could be saved from going through with their challenge.
Harvey Laud, CEO, raised the most, making an impressive £1,510.00. Ben Richardson, Trading Director came in 2nd with £885, followed by Peter Ruggiero, Commercial Director with £735. Martyn Oakton, Managing Director, followed with £535 and then Martin Ward, Finance Director, raised £295. Totalling £3,960.
Snakes Alive – Despite Harvey having the option to opt out he was a very good sport and supported Peter in the challenge. They were both introduced to Matilda the tarantula, Belle the boa constrictor, Corny the corn snake along with some cockroaches, a scorpion and python.
Up at the O2 –Martyn, Ben and Martin all faced their fear of heights and scaled the O2 Arena.
The team were raising money for our nominated charity Piam Brown Ward, the oncology and haematology centre based at Southampton Hospital, caring for children from birth to 16 years. They are one of 22 regional centres across the UK treating children and adolescents with cancer and haematological disorders. Click here for more details.
